Everyone has dreams as high as mountains, as large as oceans. But in India, girls have a tough time to even dream. Because society has made in such a way that girl should follow certain rules and do only certain tasks. They are not allowed to get out of their home unless they are married. Still, there are few brave souls in our nation who break all barriers to achieve bigger than ever before. Such girls bring in lot of hope and energy to millions of girls all over the nation to dream and have the guts to make it real. Malavath Poorna is such a girl who is the youngest girl to climb Mount Everest at 13.

Poorna was born in a tribal village near Nizamabad. Due to the caste issues, few students including her were not allowed to enter into class. Even proper education was declined for them. Such incidents created a spark in poorna’s mind. She always believed girls are not weak, they are strong by birth.  She joined the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society for studies. Dr. Praveen kumar, who was the Secretary of that Society noticed her talents and referred her name for the Mount Everest climbing operation.

She was under rigorous training which includes running, jogging and other beginner level cross workouts. Later she started climbing small mountains and shifted gear for bigger ones. Her maiden climb was on Telegana’s Bhongir rock. It was one of the two times she ever got scared. Before climbing the prestigious Mount Everest, tested her stamina with Mount Renock in Sikhim. Even during her expedition there were news about the landslide near their track and the disaster it brought to the area. But they chose to never give up. After a tireless journey, on May 25, 2014, Malavath Poorna climbed the Mount Everest and hoisted our tri color flag at the peak.

Many might think by now, she had fulfilled her dreams. But sorry, the girl was just getting started. After the Mount Everest she climbed few more mountains. Mountaineering is flowing like blood in her veins. She also climbed Mount Elbrus and Mount Kilimanjaro as part of her dream. She wants to climb seven highest mountain at seven continents.

As a result of her grit and determination, a biopic was created about her life and it was named as Poorna. This film reflected her life from a girl who couldn’t enter school to becoming the youngest girl Everest climber of the world. She also met Prime Minister of our country and received his blessings.

When media asked the reason behind the mountaineering, she revealed her secret with a smile. It was both great and simple at the same time. She claimed Everest to make a statement to this world. Girls can achieve anything and they are not weak. She also shared the toughest moment in whole mountaineering.

It was her return journey from Everest to home. Because she saw graves on the way and got scared about it. She has dreamt to become IPS officer to encourage young girls of India to dream big and make it real. Girls like Poorna are the need of the hour for our girls to believe in themselves. We wish her great success and happiness in her adventurous journey.

Questions lead to answers. If you hesitate to ask questions that itch your thoughts then this world might lose some benefits. Five years ago, a kid had a curious question which simply led to a breakthrough invention. The invention benefits blind people all around the world. Meet Shubham Banerjee, youngest CEO at 13. He found the cost effective version of Braille printer and received remarkable fund from Intel Corp.

Shubham Banerjee, had an intriguing question. During his 7th Class, a doubt sparked in his mind. It was how blind people read? His father who is also a software engineer simply asked him to search in internet. Perhaps it was not just a passing question to shubham. He dug deep into this topic and grew interest to find something new. At 12, he saw potential in making a new Braille printer. He began to work on various concepts and decided to kick start the prototype. His father decided to invest from his own savings.

He made the cost effective Braille printer proto by using Lego Mindstorms EV3 robotics kit. Intel Corp., who is the world’s leading chip manufacturer showed interest in his findings. When few officers visited his house which is also a customized lab, they were in for a surprise. They saw great potential in his invention. His approach showed great chance to bring down the cost of Braille printers to significant level. Shubham received an undisclosed amount as investment from Intel Corp. He found Palo Alto startup Braigo Lab and became the CEO at 13.

Shubham made world record by becoming the youngest CEO to receive such a high capital funding to start his own company. With the help of fund from Intel, he expanded the company by recruiting more technical experts and working people. His mother, Malini Banerjee became the president of the company and it became a family run business. His father helped in attending meetings, managing schedules and other key management topics.

He also co-founded a small company called Braigo Labs, to work on further development of these printers for educational and home use. He also made it as open source documentation for anyone to build Braigo v1.0 in home. Braigo v2.0 was designed as an off the shelf product. While many experts thinks that market for such printers in India is shallow but he was happy to proceed further in his adventure.

Henry Wedler who is a PhD candidate in Organic Chemistry at California University was very impressed by Shubham’s findings. Wedler is a famous personality who was born blind and has been honoured by the President Barack Obama as a Champion of Change for creating a campaign to support visually challenged students. Shubham and his father visited Wadler in person and provided him to try out the new Braille printer. Wedler was overwhelmed by the new machine and greatly appreciated his efforts. He is now the advisor of Braigo Labs.

Shubham is confident with his finding and moving forward with iron will to create the cost effective printing machines. This could beenfit the benefit of visually challenged people all around the world.

Failures, insults are the key factors for a person’s success. It all depends on the perspective and approach. Normally insults create a great negative impact in your thoughts. But it has the potential to change your life with a positive impact if used properly. Abhishek Jain is one of the living examples for such unique approach. Insults and enemy pushed him from knowing nothing about computers to the owner of the blog which talks about in and out of computer hacks and tricks at 14. Sounds ironic! His journey is very interesting.

Abhishek is like all normal students in school. He didn’t have any magic talents right from birth. Well, sometimes talents are not born with us, it comes by practice. Abhishek didn’t know anything about computers, in fact he hates computer. An incident, an insult by his enemy pushed his limits. The enemy is none other than his own classmate.

One day there was some discussion about computers, hacking and other topics.  His classmate mocked him for being a noob and threatened to hack all his accounts. Abhishek was scared, couldn’t concentrate on anything. Next day he asked his classmate why didn’t hacked his account. The guy said that he felt pity on abhishek. But the truth is he doesn’t know how to do it. The insult made abhishek very angry and on that day during his 6th standard started to learn about computers, programming.

He used to learn for more than 7-8 hours per day about all topics around computers. He took 35 minutes to create his first gmail account. But the fire within him kept growing and he learned lot of things every day without spending a dime. He worked hard and silent. Abhishek’s schoolmates didn’t know what he was capable for quite some time. He wanted to keep a low profile. Gradually he grew interest in programming and hacking related topics.

Abhishek created blog called as hackers den. It is an informational blog where he shares lot of tips and tricks about computer and other related topics. But the specialty is he found it at 14, when most of the similar age kids might be learning basics of computer. He has a team of 6-7 who works on topics search, content creation and providing for the public. His blog attracts 1000s of viewers on daily basis. Before opening the blog, he was working for a Facebook page where he wrote technology related content. Before getting selected he was rejected by 18 Facebook pages.

Computer knowledge is because of his enemy and writing by passion. So he merged both in Hackers den. It is extremely difficult for a school student to manage time for such activities. Surprisingly he doesn’t have any preplanned schedule. But he always keeps his computer related activities next to academics. He used to sleep for only 3-4 hrs. during the initial stage. But he still forget to eat due to the hectic schedule.

Hackers den blog was featured in The Huffington Post and at Harvard University. He visited Google office as well and received many online interviews. He always thank his enemy whose actions pushed him to come this far. From here abhishek doesn’t have any planned path. But he is firm about achieving great in his life against all odds.

Abhishek is a great example for anything is possible by determination. We wish him all the success in his life.

Indian invented the number zero. Perhaps Indians are fond of numbers for a very long time. That is why we are able to spot many mathematical geniuses from our country. Nishchal Narayanam is another star, another proud indian who became the youngest Chartered Accountant at 19. But his achievements expands wider than you could imagine. He completed double post graduate degrees. The spark happened at the age of 9, which is a very interesting story.

Nishcal liked the numbers, had a natural talent in mathematics. One day, he found the calculation mistakes in his father’s balance sheet at 9. This is not a normal. By this age kids would be learning to multiply numbers and memorize multiplication tables. But Nischal changed gears when he realized his true potential. He has exceptional memory skills.

Padmavathy, mother of Nischal who also has a Ph.D degree from Osmania University first noticed his talents. She searched and found mentors from all over the world. She groomed him with all essential knowledge. He authored few math books at 10. He trained well and participated in various memory completion across world. He won the World Memory Champion at 12.

For kids like Nischal, one Guinness record is normal. But he advanced one step and created two Guinness world records at 13. First Guinness World Record created by memorizing 225 random objects. He did it within a span of 12 minutes. Second Guinness record was created by memorizing 132 digits within a minute of time. Thus becoming the double Guinness world record holder.

He did internship in the famous Deloitte International Audit Firm. They recognised his talent and invited for a guest lecture at their global conference held in Shanghai. He addressed more than 200 people from all over the world. National Geographic  featured him in ‘ 7 brilliant brains of the world’. He  found the ‘ Nischal smart learning solutions’ at 15. It was created to educate the poor but talented kids in mathematics domain. This is a commendable initiative.

Govt. Of India honoured him with the National Child Award. It is a gold medal provided by president which is the highest honor for children under 16. His passion about numbers made him the youngest person to work in Deloitte. He is also a philanthropist and supports kida literacy though his ‘ Nischal Foundation ‘.

He had to wait for two more years from 19 to start working as CA. Because indian law doesn’t allow CA less than 21 years. Nischal’s schooling was normal till class 7. But changed gears there and appeared for each final class exams every 6 months. By 13, he was all set to join college. He completed his both degrees from Osamania University. He was also the youngest graduate from that university.

Such bright minds should be provided with essential resources to achieve great success in their life. Most of these talents are identified by parents. So it is their responsibility to provide enough space and motivation to find what their kids love to do. We wish Nischal a great success in his life and bring many more proud moments to our country. It would inspire our kids to a great extent.

‘Knowledge is Power’. The power to make an impact on the world. Education is at the core. Proper education is crucial to acquire great knowledge. But there are some kids born with the knowledge. Perhaps the ability to grasp things faster than normal kids. The only thing stops this girl from appearing for medical entrance exam is the age restriction. Sushma Verma wants to be a doctor and waiting until she turns 17. She made a record by completing X class at 7. She got a place in Limca book of records.

Sushma Verma is from outskirts of Lucknow. Her father was a Sanitation worker and mother is a homemaker. A family who cannot afford anything other than a normal education. But Sushma is not an ordinary student. Her talent came to light when she recites Ramayanam as a 2 year old child. She was a bright student in school. After looking at her talent, she was allowed to enroll in Class X at 7. She passed it with outstanding performance. Her parents supported in all possible ways. After all their kids has the most precious wealth in the world, education.

Financial problem became a hurdle as she climbed up in life. She remembered those tough times. But nothing was able to stop her. People from many places helped her in all possible ways. At 13, she completed her undergraduate degree. She enrolled in MSc Microbiology at Lucknow University. In spite of her problems, she got her Master’s degree at 15. In addition to that, she also scored a CGPA of 8.

Sushma always wanted to be a doctor. But our education system restricts people from applying for entrance exams until 17. So she had to wait for another two years. She was really upset with such rules. People should be evaluated based on talents not by age. But she is a bright kid: she had backup plans. Instead of waiting and wasting the two years, she joined for PhD program at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University. Agricultural Microbiology is her field of interest. There is a strong reason to choose specific course.

Sushma used to visit fields and observed the land conditions. The soil in and around Lucknow is becoming arid every day. She wanted to explore the reasons and possible solutions to make it a fertile land again. Because greenery can be built only on fertile soil.

If there is anything sushma’s parents could be proud, is her academic achievements. She has a younger brother who is also set to make some records. Despite the troublesome situation for Sushma and her family, once in a while there is something to celebrate and be proud about.

Sushma is one of a kind who focused on her dreams even though there were lot of problems. Financial problems are not easy to solve. Most of the middle class family can understand her struggle. We wish her great success in all endeavors.
