Voyager – a person who goes on a long trip especially on a ship. This is the definition given for a voyager. It looks like a tough thing to be a voyager. When kids around 8 years old might try to learn to cycle on the road, this kid ruled the sea. He was the youngest sailor from India who represented Asian games. Now, this might sound normal but sailing on the sea demands a lot of physical, mental strength, and the coordination between the both is also essential. Chitresh Thatha from Chennai is the kid who is undergoing rigorous training to get an International award for our country.

Chitresh Thatha was born in 2001 and begun sailing in 2009. His sister is the first motivation during his training with her. Chitresh realised that sailing comes naturally to him and to set the path through sailing. This took him from the school he studied in several countries including UK, Malaysia, Turkey, Ireland, France, Bahrain, the Netherlands and Malta. He truly loves being on the water and aiming high for medals.

Chitresh took part in Asian games in 2014 where he was the youngest contender from India. His passion for sailing kept him moving despite many challenges. Sailing required a lot of mental strength, necessary to deal with unexpected behaviours of the sea. Chitresh saw his sister competing in Laser Radial category and wanted to try it. The journey began at that moment and never turned back till now. He won the gold medal in India International Ragatta for under 12 categories in 2013.

Chitresh Thatha is a national champion in the Optimistic category where they use a small single-handed sailing dinghy used by children up to the age of 15. The budding champion observed the current of sailing sport in our country and wants to do his part for a bright future. He mentioned that India has never won a medal in sailing sport, not even in Asia level. He wanted to change that state and eagerly looking for a podium finish. He trains for 6 hours every day. Since he spends considerable time in training, sometime he skipped school for weeks. But his parents and teachers are very supportive which helps him to concentrate on sports.

Chitresh competed in Hong Kong Race week, a consistent event of Asian Sailing Federation Youth Cup. Forty sailors took part and Chitresh clinched silver medal in the Laser 4.7 class category. This is one of his long awaited achievement. This race consist 10 rounds where he finished first in three races (4, 7, 10) and second in race 3.

Although few awards bagged, it is worth to note that sailing is entirely different from other sports. He is a National Level sailor from India for the past 5 to 6 years in water sports. Chitresh is training extensively under the Yatching Association of India’s Chief National coach Pete Conway and assistant Umesh Naiksatam. He is aspiring to bring international acclaimed medals for India in sailing sport.

The number of medals can never measure a person’s capacity. It depends on the attitude when one is back against the war. Chitresh looks firm and looking forward to bring the great name for our nation. Let’s congratulate him for all his awesome efforts to make our nation proud.

Martial Arts is only for self-protection, it can never be used to hurt others. Wonderful message conveyed clearly by this movie. Self-discipline is the secret for any success. The down to earth character played by Jackie Chan is a refreshing change for him. Pain and failures are here to remind us how big is the world. The kid character was played by Jade Smith, son of the famous Will Smith. All characters in this movie executed well. How one should face the failures, humiliation and other negative elements is something that is invaluable for the growing kids.

This movie can be added in a must watch list for all kids. Kids don’t follow your words, they follow your actions. So parents and teachers should pay attention to what they do in front of kids. When you do what you love, the journey of life will be memorable. A valuable lesson we could learn from a kid holding the world record as the youngest Tabla Master ever at 6. The child prodigy in playing the Tabla, Trupturaj Pandya, the youngest Tabla Master of the World.

The history set to be created, when he was born on October 23, 2006. He grew up by listening to his grandmother’s devotional songs. That music was one of the essential ingredients in his daily routine. It happened on one night when he played with the Dholki that he received from neighbour aunt and it was so rhythmic. His parents woke up with surprise and the cute rhythm brought tears of joy in her mother, Veena Panda’s eyes. It kick-started the journey of the youngest Tabla Master at that moment. His parents believed that he was born with a rhythm and supported him by all means.

Trupturaj Pandya had the natural attraction towards percussion instruments. He used to play with small utensils while his grandmother sings devotional songs. He made his first public performance at 2 years at Somaiya college – Vidyavihar, Mumbai on January 18, 2009. His crucial public performance happened at 3 in All India Radio on November 15, 2009. They awarded him the Baal Kala Ratna award for his exceptional performance. Folks and devotional songs are his area of interest.

Trupturaj Pandya continued to perform in various locations. He performed in Doordarshan at 4, they had to arrange two cushions for him to reach his instrument. Once again it was a wonderful performance. His father Atul Pandya applied for Limca book of records but got rejected due to his son’s age restrictions. Atul Pandya realised his sons true potential after a series of public performances and prepared him for the world record attempt. So he didn’t give up and forwarded the application to Guinness book of world records.

Trupturaj kept performing without any time break and mastered his skills. By 2013, he already completed 50 public performances. His father remembered the application process of his only son’s worlds record attempt in 2013. He began the application process during the previous years Ganesh Chaturthi and got the confirmation during that year’s Ram Navami. Atul Pandya was closely watching his son’s growth as a Tabla Master.

The most remarkable achievement in Tripturaj’s life happened when he was 6 years old. Tripturaj attempted the world record for being the youngest Tabla Master of the World. In this awesome attempt, he broke the record of Rajat Kumar Mishra, who made this record at 7. Tripturaj is well known in the musician’s world and already a favourite. Legends like Ustad Zakhar Hussain, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Ustad Iqbal Ahmed Khan congratulated him and helping the champ to excel in his area of interest.

The champ is currently being trained under professionals; we think this is just a beginning and wishing to achieve many more like this.
