Parents should not smoke, at least for their kids. Recent studies have shown the relation between parent’s smoking habit and kid’s heart rhythm problem. It is called Atrial fibrillation (or a-fib). When kids exposed to smoking parents, the heart rhythm is disturbed. This could lead to stroke or heart failure in kid on a long term. For every packet of cigarette that parents smoke, kid’s a-fib risk rose by 18%. Also, because of smoking habit in parents, the risk of kids smoking as they grow up increases.

Kids watch their parents’ actions and follow rather listening to them. Parents should be aware of it.

WHO recommends to restrict the screen view time to 1 hour maximum for children up to age 5. Even eliminating that one hour is better for the child’s growth. It also recommends to avoid exposing children under 1 year to any kind of screen. WHO came down hard on the lifestyle change which parents might impose on their babies. Lack of physical activity can bring adverse health issues to the children. Because the first few years are the crucial time since there will be lot of growth happens during that time. Parents should involve kids in physical activities. Also completely avoid screen time for babies. Screen time includes all kind of electronic devices which includes the TV as well.

UK government is discussing to provide a unique space for kids to motivate them for a better change. Let us join together and use internet in a responsible way. Summer means holidays for kids. A fruitful month to play, enjoy, roam with friends. It is healthy to sweat out with some sports activities but this summer is somewhat different from previous ones. The climate is changing and temperature is rising every year in recent times. Parents should pay attention to their kids during such adverse weather conditions. Kids should choose better place to play at the same time do not skip some early morning sunlight. But they should also keep their body cool and hydrated throughout the day. This year summer is hotter than last time and parents should take extra care to keep their kids healthy and energetic during their holiday time.

Physically challenged kids were all excited to take part in the annual event called Beeping Easter egg hunt. This year it is even bigger than last time. Around 30 kids participated in the event from Insight Kids Club of NEPA. Bomb Squads from The Scranton and Bethlehem area joined hands with the kids and planted 60 beeping Easter eggs across the ground.  This activity helps visually impaired kids to develop independent decision making skills, mobility and location skills. The number of kids participate in the event is increasing every year.
